Secaucus Environmental Department

About Us

The Environmental Department is instrumental in ensuring that Secaucus promotes incentives and programs to help protect and preserve our environment. It serves as an advisor to the Mayor and town council on local environmental issues and to make certain that Secaucus is a greener place to live for future generations.

The Environmental Department is responsible for:

  • All recycling efforts, information and reports regarding recycling;
  • Community organizing regarding environmental issues and environmental education;
  • Reporting on grants that the town has been awarded for projects such as Recreational Open Space Inventories and Tree Inventories as well as community garden opportunities;
  • Planning of our annual Green Summer Festival , Environmental Camp, as well as other environmental events throughout the year;
  • Serving as Secaucus’ liaison to the state's Department of Environmental Protection as well as any other statewide environmental agency;
  • Enforcing any environmentally-related laws enacted by the state or the town.

Services

The services that the department provides:

  • The environmental department serves to enforce any environmentally related laws enacted by the state or the town.
