The Town of Secaucus provides the Notification System as a free informational resource to the residents and businesses of the Town of Secaucus. IF YOU ARE IN IMMEDIATE DANGER AND NEED EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE DIAL 911. The Notification System should not be your only source for emergency information. It is a supplement to, and not a replacement for, existing public safety warning and information systems such as television and radio. Your use of, and agreement to receive notifications from the System does not create any duty on the part of the Town of Secaucus, and the Town of Secaucus is not responsible for any action you may take as a result of any notification you receive through the Notification System. The Town of Secaucus, its officers, employees, agents and assigns hereby disclaim any and all warranties, express or implied, and assume no legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information, process or service provided by the Notification System. The Notification System may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance or malfunction. The Town of Secaucus does not guarantee that any particular notification or type of notification will be sent or that you will receive every message. If you believe that you are in danger, you should not wait for or rely exclusively on this Notification System, but immediately take all necessary precautions and actions. If you are directed to take action by emergency personnel, you should follow their directions immediately. In no event shall the Town of Secaucus, its officers, employees, agents or assigns, be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential, special, incidental, punitive or other damages, or other losses, costs or expenses or any kind whatsoever resulting from, caused by, or arising out of or in connection with the Notification System, or your use thereof, its contents, or any other cause whatsoever, including without limitation, losses related to the inability to use the System, loss of data, any errors, omissions or defects in the Notification System content, any lost or misdirected notifications, malfunction of communications equipment, computer equipment or software, or notifications that fail to be transmitted due to problems with servers or transmissions (i.e. cable, satellite, dial-up, etc.), human error or any other cause.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are authorizing the Town of Secaucus to send notifications and communications to you via telephone, email and/or text (SMS) message. You further understand that the Town of Secaucus is not responsible for any applicable charges that may apply for the notification method. It is your responsibility to maintain accurate contact information in the Notification System, and you may only register telephone numbers and email addresses for which you have legal authority to request transmissions to. As a government agency, the Town of Secaucus is subject to open public records laws and disclosure of information provided may be mandated by law. The Town of Secaucus does not sell data for direct mail or advertising purposes. You may remove yourself from the Notification System or from certain types of notifications at any time upon notice to the Town of Secaucus. The Town of Secaucus may remove any contact information that it believes, in its sole opinion, to be fraudulent or otherwise inappropriate.
