The Town of Secaucus is currently accepting applications for the following part-time positions: Animal Shelter Workers  |  Aftercare Staff   |   Crossing Guards. 

 

 

ANIMAL SHELTER WORKER(S)

  • Feed, water, clean, groom and exercise animals.
  • Clean and sterilize animal food bowls and water pans.
  • Clean disinfect and deodorized washing and grooming areas. 
  • Clean and disinfect animal living quarters.
  • Shift: may vary flexible with days/hours. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.   
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Must have a humane outlook on the care and handling of domestic animals. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to disseminate information relating to the operations in a professional, concise and consistent manner. 
  • Strong customer service focus with strong interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers, residents and agency personnel. 

 

 AFTERCARE STAFF  

  • Ensure safety and security of all students at Aftercare program
  • Provide varied activities to meet a range of interests, abilities and needs to students. 
  • Coverage at Clarendon location afternoon shift.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Programs run same as the school calendar year.
  • Must take and pass medical examination required.
  • Successful completion of fingerprint / criminal background check. 

 

CROSSING GUARDS 

  • Ensure the safety and security of all students at various school and assigned crossings.
  • Coverage runs same as the school calendar year; may also include other events during the year.
  • Must take and pass medical examination required.
  • Successful completion of fingerprint / criminal background checks. 
  • Good verbal communication skills, able to disseminate information relating to the operations in a professional, concise and consistent manner. 
  • Good customer service focus skills in dealing with students, residents and co-workers.
