The Hudson County Improvement Authority (HCIA) will be hosting a mobile shredding event on Saturday May 13th at the Secaucus Recreation Center (1200 Koelle Blvd). The event will run from 9am to 1pm, rain or shine, and is open to all Secaucus residents free of charge.

According to hcia.org, approximately 15 million U.S. residents have their identities used fraudulently each year. An easy step to take in order to protect yourself against identity theft is to properly shred your personal documents.

Please keep in mind that this is an event for individual residents only, not businesses. No large binder clips or plastic binders are permitted, and please refrain from bringing more than 40 pounds of documents to shred

There will also be an opportunity to pick up your HCIA rain barrels and compost bins at the event. If you wish to reserve a barrel or bin for $40 each, please contact the HCIA at (201)- 324- 6222 ext. 3257 or at .
