03-16-20 Update

From time to time you will hear the terminology self-quarantine. We may have people under self-quarantine at different times throughout this pandemic. As defined by the CDC, self-quarantine is when a person is believed to have been exposed to a communicable disease but not yet symptomatic at home or as otherwise determined.

Our Health Department supervises this self-quarantine period of 14 days. Public health supervision means that the local health department establishes initial contact with the individual, instructs the person to measure their temperature and assess themselves for respiratory symptoms daily, and provide instructions for notifying the health department if they develop fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.

The New Jersey Department of Health reported that we currently have:0 Secaucus residents under self-quarantine. That being said, there may be individuals taking steps to self-quarantine that we are not aware of as they have made the decision to do so on their own.
