We have been informed that on Friday, August 17th at 9:00 p.m. the lane closures on 495 will begin and this will cause significant traffic delays throughout Town and the surrounding area. All are encouraged to plan alternate routes or means of transportation.

I am pleased to advise that the Council and I have secured approval for residents to park in the large unpaved lot off of Paul Amico Way which abuts the New High Tech High School. This lot is close to the Lautenberg train station. The Town will provide a free shuttle between the lot and train station for the morning and evening rush hours. The morning shuttle will run from 6:40 a.m. to 8:40 a.m and the evening shuttle will run from 4:40 p.m to 6:40 p.m. The shuttle will run every 20 minutes. We will implement the program and evaluate the usage over the first month and then determine the continuation of the service moving forward. The shuttle will not operate and the lot will not be available days the Town Hall is closed. We are hoping this will help make the commute easier for many residents.

The parking and shuttle are available for Secaucus residents only. Cars will be checked for residential parking stickers.

Many thanks to Tom DeGise, Hudson County Executive, for making the lot available.
