Mayor Gonnelli Message - 3-17-20

We are going through unprecedented times during the current COVID-19 health crisis. I would like to assure all residents that we continue to work very closely with appropriate departments at the state, county and local levels to minimize the impact of coronavirus on our residents and businesses. Even though we must put in place some difficult measures following Governor Phil Murphy’s Executive Order yesterday, I feel we will get through this and come out stronger as a community.

The Governor’s Executive Order includes strict guidelines for businesses. I truly believe that the long-term stability of our local businesses depends on all of our support. It is more important now than ever to come together and help impacted local businesses. Please shop local when possible. Order take out from your favorite local restaurants and bars. Small measures can go a long way to keep these businesses running and the vitality of our community strong and resilient.

I would also like to emphasize the importance of social distancing. At the same time, it’s important to stay close with your friends and family with calls, texts and group chats. Call your elderly friends to check if they need anything. Spend quality time with family. Most of all, be considerate and patient. These are difficult times, but we will get through this together.
