Mayor Gonnelli Message - 3-25-20

On behalf of the Town Council and myself, I want to thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. I very much miss visiting residents and businesses throughout our community, driving around town and seeing you all. Regular interactions with members of our community is what I love, and I cannot wait for daily life to return to normal; WHICH IT WILL! I have no doubt you feel the same way.

As the saying goes, “times like these bring out the best in people.” This is certainly true for Secaucus. I see firsthand how neighbors are helping each other, our seniors are being cared for, our business community is stepping forward with donations of food, supplies and money to help our first responders, health care workers and those in need. I can’t even begin to express my sincere gratitude.

Despite all the efforts, we need more supplies for our essential employees, first responders and health care workers, such as masks, gloves, gowns, hands sanitizer, Lysol, etc. Therefore, I am asking anyone who may have these items and is willing to donate to please bring the items to Town Hall and leave them inside the front entrance. Our staff will regularly collect and inventory the donations. This could go a long way to ensure we have adequate supplies to get us through this crisis. Check out the flyer for a list of supplies we need. Also visit our website www.secuaucusnj.gov/virus for the latest information available to us regarding COVID-19.

Lastly, please practice social distancing and do everything you can to stay well. I look forward to seeing you soon.
