03-12-20 Update

Currently, the risk of coronavirus disease in our area is low. Our website, secaucusnj.gov will be updated as we get new information. You can also visit the New Jersey website https://www.nj.gov/health/cd/topics/ncov.shtml, the CDC website

www.cdc.gov/coronavirus or call the NJ hotline 1-800-222-1222 for more information.

The Mayor and Town Council would like residents to know that the Town is working closely with county and state health departments to address concerns about coronavirus.  In addition to other steps, our departments have stepped up cleaning procedures in Town buildings to help stem the spread of COVID-19.

  • The DPW has enhanced cleaning procedures in buildings including Recreation Centers, Senior Center, Public Library, common areas of Senior housing and Town Hall.
  • Town Shuttle buses and medical escort cars are being sanitized and routine cleaning is done every day.
  • Hand sanitizers are provided where possible and soap dispensers in public restrooms are being checked frequently.

Here’s what you can do to help prevent the spread of diseases such as the flu and coronavirus:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
